A 14-year-old schoolboy is fighting for life after he was stabbed in the neck during a fight in south London.
The teenager was taken to hospital after the fight in Croydon earlier today.
Four males have been arrested, the Metropolitan Police confirmed, and have been taken into custody.
Multiple police officers have been pictured in Poplar Walk, close to West Croydon train station, and appear to be huddled around a figure on the wet pavement.
Transport for London has tweeted to say that a number of buses are being diverted as a result of a “police incident”, reports the Croydon Advertiser .
The Met Police have confirmed that a group of people were fighting in Poplar Walk at about 4.30pm and that one person has been stabbed.
There are unconfirmed reports that some of those in the fight were wearing school uniforms.
A resident who was at the scene, who gave his name as Tom, said: “When you consider it’s a 14-year-old boy who has been stabbed in the neck, it’s shocking.
“He’s a kid, he’s just into puberty. He’s still a baby, it’s just shocking.”
